The company 

Having recently closed its Series C funding earlier this year, the company has ambitious, and aggressive, hiring plans to scale the business from 120 people to 200 in 2022. Their goal is to become the vendor for solutions aimed at accurately managing construction sites by mitigating inefficiencies and risk. Wearable technology in the construction market is still in its fledgling stages however this company is already working with some of the largest contractors and engineering firms globally due to the quality of the solution.

 

The role 

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for prospecting and outbound activities with net new customers within the AEC market, specifically to the Tier 1/Majors level. Given the scale of the deals ($60k min), the individual should be capable of providing a partner approach operating consultatively, and comfortable working on large deal sizes over long periods.

In addition to new business, you will be responsible for developing existing accounts from a project basis to an enterprise level ensuring our client’s solutions are being utilised at every level and department of the prospect.

 

The requirements 

You will have a proven track record of success in B2B selling, as well as… 

  • Experience within the construction industry either in a client/consultant facing role and a desire to move into sales or experience in a SaaS role selling construction technology solutions. 

  • Passionate about construction and/or technology  

  • Possess a hunter mentality with the ability and aptitude to close new business from cold and leverage existing relationships for new business.

  • Be adaptable and open to wearing many hats – due to the nature of the start-up world, no day will be the same and will expose you to many different responsibilities.

  • Great communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to hold conversations with customers from a range of cultures and seniorities.
