Our client is searching for a charismatic Business Development Manager with an aptitude for developing influential relationships to position them as the partner of choice across the North American transportation space.

The role

As a Business Development Manager, you’ll build a network of trusted relationships with customers, key accounts and technical leaders within the industry in order to develop a sustainable base of business opportunities from which our client can expand. Partnerships sits at the heart of this role – you’ll work closely across Marketing, Sales and channel departments to develop a cohesive strategy that propels brand awareness across a vertical market. 

Other responsibilities include:

  • Growing the customer base and market presence in line with targets

  • Learning technical requirements of the product portfolio

  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives

  • Negotiating contracts and commercials terms 

  • Maintaining a high level of industry expertise and competitive intelligence 


The requirements

You’ll have strong (5+ years’) sales experience with a proven track record in a business development role, as well as: 

  • Degree educated in Engineering (or equivalent experience) 

  • Experience in intelligent transportation systems (ITS) is a must 

  • Detailed understanding of industry market trends, with a strong network of contacts 

  • Excellent customer-facing skills and able to maintain a strong personal impression

  • Strong communication, articulation and presentation skills

  • High IT proficiency (including Microsoft Suite)

  • Passionate about learning and facing new challenges 

  • Flexible and willing to travel
