Do you want to work for a key market player in infection control and prevention?Our client is currently looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team in the South of the UK and identify and pursue new business opportunities.

Developing innovative products to keep people safe, our client continues to evolve and adapt, placing them firmly at the forefront of infection control systems.

The role

As Business Development Manager you’ll be focused on generating new business in both NHS and private hospital accounts. You’ll deliver on the strategy for your territory and will be focused on hunting for new business across the region. This role is 100% new business focused, so you’ll be generating clients and on-boarding new or low spend customers and will do so by forming strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders.

As part of this role, you’ll also be a point of reference for customers on all things infection control and prevention!

Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities
  • Engaging with stakeholders and navigating decision-making processes
  • Assisting account managers with maximising opportunities
  • Identifying customer needs via consultative selling
  • Using your knowledge on infection prevention to educate and guide customers
  • On boarding new or low-spend customers
  • Delivering new business strategy for your territory

The requirements

You will have at least 2 years’ of experience in a business development or sales role in the healthcare space, ideally with exposure to and knowledge of infection control/prevention. Other requirements include:

  • Experience dealing with procurement channels within the NHS
  • Experienced with generating new business
  • Familiarity with capital and primary/secondary care sales
  • Experience selling a full-suite of products including capital equipment, service contracts and consumables
  • Able to adapt sales approach depending on customer needs
  • Able to navigate NHS key opinion leaders
  • Experienced with consultative selling
  • A ‘hunter’ mentality who is confident in generating new business
  • Driven and eager
  • Organised and methodical
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Excellent at communicating with stakeholders at all levels (including C-level)
