Do you have a strong track record in a sales role in the geoscience space? Do you want to work for a company who are revolutionising the field of geological interpretation? Our client is improving interpretation and data quality in the space with their AI workflows and geophysical data intelligence services and are currently looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team. 

The company 

Our client has over 30 years of experience in the geological space, providing evaluation software and intelligence to customers that allows them to harness a more detailed understanding of the subsurface of the Earth. Focused on artificial intelligence, their software combines AI and seismic interpretation to improve speed and clarity of data. 

They are leading the way in geological interpretation, with a passion for combining science and technology to provide solutions that allow increased understanding of the Earth. 


The role 

As Business Development Manager you’ll join our client’s talented sales team as they aim to expand their presence across Europe. Your core focus will be to drive business growth by executing strategies to win new business with new and existing customers with a particular focus on the Oil and Gas market.  


Responsibilities include: 

  • Delivering on sales targets 

  • Executing business growth strategies and increasing market share 

  • Identify customer needs and adopting value-based selling approaches 

  • Developing and nurturing key accounts and relationships 

  • Creating collaborative relationships with stakeholders to achieve buy-in 

  • Maintaining a CRM system and updating with sale activities 

  • Negotiating with clients to close deals 

  • Preparing software/services proposals and quotes 

  • Engaging consultatively with a wide range of customers 

  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities  



The requirements 

Our client is looking for someone with experience successfully selling either geoscience or drilling software applications. They want someone who has a strong track record in generating new business as well as growing existing accounts. 

Other requirements include: 

  • Degree-level education in a Geosciences or Earth Sciences discipline  

  • At least 5 years’ experience in an aligned sales role 

  • Proven ability to sell into companies of all sizes 

  • Experience in SaaS 

  • Experience working in Europe with a strong industry network 

  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) 

  • Demonstrable success in identifying and generating new business 

  • Experience developing sales strategies and processes to deliver account growth 

  • Motivated and driven 

  • Able to travel regularly (when permitted)
