Job description

Our client is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their team covering East Anglia. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a dispensing background looking to break into Lens Sales.

The role

As Business Development Manager, you’ll be responsible for increasing and developing the sales of our client’s product portfolio within the territory, across the Independent, Lab, Regional and National Channels. 

Other responsibilities include: 

  • Achieving and exceeding sales targets 

  • Educating and training customers by demonstrating features and benefits of the products 

  • Providing technical and optical support 

  • Driving positive customer experience by providing excellent customer service 

  • Preparing and executing sales plans

  • Operating within agreed cost budgets

  • Executing joint marketing promotions

  • Proactively developing own product, optical, and sales knowledge 

  • Completing all essential administration documents on time 

  • Providing feedback on sales processes

 

The requirements

You will have field-based sales experience and/or experience in practice dispensing, as well as:

  • Evidence of success in a sales role

  • Experience managing a sales region (desirable)

  • Strong industry knowledge and experience working with ophthalmic lenses 

  • Technical experience in manufacturing 

  • Results orientated and driven to succeed 

  • A good relationship builder with stakeholders of all levels

  • Able to work autonomously and based on own initiative 

  • Excellent planning and organisational skills 

  • Competitive team player 

  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)

  • Able to work under pressure in a dynamic environment

  • Strong computer literacy skills (Microsoft Office) 

  • An enthusiastic and can-do attitude, with a drive to succeed
