Job description

Due to continued success and recent growth globally, our client is looking for someone to join their team and help expand their presence across the UK, as a Business Development Manager, by selling into Tier 1 accounts. 


The company  

FMC are currently supporting one of the leading providers of innovative construction-specific software solutions to the global Architecture Engineering Construction (AEC) market. With products aimed at improving the efficiency and success of contractors and SMEs, this is a genuinely exciting chance to join one of the most long-standing, recognised brands within the construction software space. 

The role 

As Business Development Manager, you will focus on finding, developing, and closing new contracts for software subscriptions and consulting services. You will get leads passed from the inside sales team which you will be responsible for generating revenue from and closing sales of assigned new business opportunities. When necessary, you will be expected to travel to client sites and the office for meetings, apart from this, the role will be home based.  

Other responsibilities include:  

  • Developing strategic relationships and help to identify new business opportunities  

  • Tracking of sales opportunities and establishing a qualified pipeline and accurate forecasting 

  • Carrying out customer presentations, creating proposals and product demonstrations 

  • Maintaining a strategic territory development plan 

  • Keeping all records up to date in the company CRM system 


The requirements 

You will have an excellent understanding of the UK construction sector, as well as… 

  • Proven track record of new business development with experience in selling technology solutions into the construction sector at an enterprise, regional and project level 

  • Prior experience with sales pipeline management and forecasting  

  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills 

  • Excellent IT skills and effective use of sales CRM tools 

  • Organised and methodical approach to work 

  • Target driven, self-starter and a team player 

  • Flexible to travel across the UK for client meetings with the ability to interact at various levels of seniority
