Our client is currently looking for an ambitious Business Development Director to join their team in North America and drive the digital transformation of the manufacturing industry. 

 

The company 

Our client is a global industrial Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company enabling digital transformation within heavy-asset industries. Their core software product continues to power companies that increase sustainability, safety, and efficiency. 

 

The role 

As a Business Development Director – Manufacturing you will develop a territory plan that targets new Discrete and Process Manufacturing accounts and builds the territory pipeline. You’ll establish strong relationships with a portfolio of corporate manufacturing clients, offering solutions that will improve operational results and build trust and credibility with customers. 

Other responsibilities include: 

  • Developing and executing account strategies 

  • Pursuing business opportunities and closing agreements 

  • Providing excellent customer service, including to C-suite clients 

  • Collaborating with business development, pre-sales, strategic customer service, marketing and product to drive complex sales processes 

  • Hitting and exceeding sales quota  

  • Providing accurate forecasting 

  • Maintaining a high knowledge of the company’s solutions and services  

 

The requirements 

You’ll have 10 + years of sales experience in complex multi-stakeholder environments, as well as: 

  • At least 7 years of successful Enterprise Software Sales Experience in the manufacturing vertical 

  • Demonstrable knowledge of selling six and seven-figure ACV deals (GBP) within the manufacturing industry 

  • Experience with Operational Technology equipment and related software 

  • Familiar with relevant technology such as Big Data, Data Warehouses, Business Intelligence and Machine Learning 

  • Able to thrive in a growing, start-up environment 

  • A hunter mentality and an aptitude for creating successful business relationships 

  • Detail orientated and analytical 

  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)  

  • Flexible and willing to travel
