Our client is a world-renowned provider of surgical and diagnostic equipment and is currently looking for a Business Development and Application Specialist to join their microsurgery team and support a portfolio of diagnostic and intraoperative radiotherapy technology.

A market leader, our client is focused on implementing innovative optical technologies into their specialist range of diagnostic and surgical equipment. They have an impressive reputation for providing healthcare professional with outstanding products use within Neuro, Ophthalmology, ENT and Spinal clinical disciplines.


The role

As a Business Development and Application Specialist you’ll join their UK microsurgery team and will be focused on a portfolio of technologies for the diagnostic and intraoperative radiotherapy treatment of tumours. You’ll be focused on developing a ‘go to market’ plan for new technologies and will be focused within Neurosurgery. These technologies are ground-breaking and innovative, making this role an exciting opportunity to bring these new products to the UK market!

If you’ve got a strong knowledge of surgical oncology treatment and are able to implement new product strategies into UK markets, this could be the perfect opportunity to use your skills.


Responsibilities include:

  • Developing extensive clinical knowledge of diagnosis and treatment within oncology
  • Identifying a strategic plan for successful market adoption of new technology
  • Integrating business strategies into plans for local UK markets
  • Promoting the brand and product portfolio to KOLs
  • Meeting customer expectations
  • Implementing ‘go to market’ plans for the portfolio
  • Identifying and coordinating sales in early-adopter UK sites
  • Providing clinical expertise
  • Influencing key decision makers within clinical environments
  • Understanding business case approval/funding processes to facilitate getting the products to market


The requirements

You’ll be driven to support a new product launch of exciting, innovative technologies into the UK market and will be confident in driving these pathways in the NHS and neurocentres. You’ll have a strong track record in commercial sales (within the NHS) and will have clinical knowledge of oncology surgical treatment. Other requirements include…

  • Degree level education in Biomedical Science, Pathology, Lifesciences, Health Science, or equivalent
  • Successful sales background
  • Track record of selling into the NHS and clinical environents
  • Experience in the Oncology, Neurosurgery and Neuropathology amrkets
  • Understanding of NHS Cancer Treatment Workflow
  • Able to implement business strategies into UK markets
  • Strong relationship building skills with clinical and non-clinical takegolders
  • Strong project management and business development skills
  • Experience working with complex, disruptive technologies desirable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer-focused
  • Able to work collaboratively
