Are you a talented sales individual with an aptitude for building successful customer relationships? Our client is currently looking for an Area Sales Manager to join their team. 


The company 

Our client is a global manufacturing and distribution company who completes commercial and residential projects all over the world. They focus on surfaces and laminates used for furniture, office and retail space, countertops, and worktops. They sell their products through a network of company-owned independent distributors across the UK, North America and internationally.


The role 

As an Area Sales Manager, you’ll be responsible for defining and executing account development plans, including new product listings and category management, that create sustainable growth in your territory. You’ll play a key role in building relationships with existing clients whilst seeking new business opportunities to increase revenue.

Other responsibilities include: 

  • Owning account plans that drive strategy for 3-year periods 

  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities 

  • Hitting and exceeding sales targets 

  • Improving customer satisfaction and resolving customer queries 

  • Conducting customer product training 

  • Analysing the market to maintain awareness of competitor activity 

  • Cross-collaborating with teams across the business to support Sales and Marketing functions 

  • Developing in-depth technical knowledge of our client’s product portfolio


The requirements 

You’ll be an excellent negotiator with strong interpersonal skills, as well as: 

  • High level of business intelligence and commercial acumen 

  • Proactive and able to credibly engage with customers 

  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment 

  • Organised and cable to confidently undertake multiple projects 

  • Strong computer literacy skills (including CRM Microsoft Suite) 

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) 

  • Self-motivated, flexible, and committed 

  • Willing to travel with overnight stays
