Job description

Our client is currently looking for a sales expert to join their team as an Area Manager – Software Sales and expand the sales pipeline in North America.

Their software solutions have propelled productivity across the aerospace, building technologies, PMT and SPS sectors. Having garnered a global reputation for streamlining performance whilst ensuring safety and security, their products and services can be found on virtually every commercial, defence and space aircraft. 

The role 

As an Area Manager – Software Sales you’ll utilise your sales expertise to develop and execute account and territory plans, incorporating software sales strategies that will accelerate revenue. You’ll become an expert of the software product portfolio in order to align our client’s solutions with customer objectives and priorities. 

Other responsibilities include: 

  • Prospecting on all existing and prospective customers in your territory 

  • Delivering accurate sales forecasts 

  • Hitting and exceeding sales quota 

  • Maintaining expert level market knowledge 

  • Providing feedback of market intelligence and business reviews to executives 

  • Assisting global accounts sales-managers with locations/installations in the territory 

  • Engaging in senior level customer meetings to identify customer needs 

  • Regularly visiting customer sites and ensuring customer satisfaction 


The requirements 

You’ll have 5+ years of proven direct sales and business development experience for engineering and operation, as well as: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a relevant discipline 

  • 3+ years of experience of having worked with North Americas Customers 

  • Background within the Oil and Gas and/or Chemicals and EPCs industries 

  • Excellent networker and able to influence customer relationships at all levels  

  • Experience in selling software solutions delivered through Cloud, SaaS, and traditional software commercial models 

  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment 

  • Highly organised and able to prioritise effectively 

  • Strong presentation, negotiation and communication skills 

  • Results-orientated and driven
