Our client is currently looking for an Area Manager for their North West London region (covering NW London, Reading, Slough, Hemel Hempstead, St Albans) to sell and provide training and support to their Trauma and Elective Surgery portfolio across the territory.

The role

As an Area Sales Manager you’ll manage the North West London territory, providing training support to numerous stakeholders in both NHS and private hospitals, from Orthopaedic surgeons to procurement departments. Responsible for selling the portfolio, you’ll be enthusiastic and eager to maintain and grow the territory.

The products you’ll be working with? A dynamic portfolio of products focused on Trauma and Elective Surgery.

Responsibilities include:

  • Selling the product portfolio into the NHS and private sector
  • Growing the territory in line with targets
  • Maintaining and growing business in the territory
  • Attending surgery and educating and supporting Orthopaedic surgeons and theatre staff
  • Providing training on the product portfolio to theatre staff
  • Reporting into the RSM
  • Managing the territory and customers
  • Attending tradeshows and exhibitions


The requirements

You will have either 2 years’ experience in medical device/orthopaedic sales and account management or a background as an orthopaedic scrub nurse, as well as…

  • Knowledge of anatomy/physiology
  • Computer literacy skills (including Microsoft Office suite)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Account management or sales experience desirable
  • Knowledge of the orthopaedic market
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Full UK driving license and ability to travel across the territory
  • Account management/sales experience desirable
  • Knowledge of the orthopaedics market desirable but not essential


The territory for this role covers NW London, Reading, Slough, Hemel Hempstead, St Albans. When permitted, you will be expected to travel to customers across this territory.
