Do you have experience in surgical device sales? Do you want to work for a leading manufacturer of specialist ophthalmic equipment? Our client is a world-renowned provider of surgical and diagnostic equipment for the ophthalmology space and is currently looking for an Account Manager to join their team in the South West.

A market leader, our client is focused on implementing innovative optical technologies into their specialist range of diagnostic and surgical equipment. They have an impressive reputation for providing healthcare professional with outstanding products use within Neuro, Ophthalmology, ENT and Spinal clinical disciplines.
 

The role

As an Account Manager you’ll have responsibility for a portfolio of surgical ophthalmic consumables and capital equipment, including IOLs and ophthalmic microscopes. You’ll be responsible for all sales activities associated with the portfolio across the South West territory.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning and forecasting sales activity/business plan preparation for your territory
  • Present and sell the surgical product portfolio in surgical and out-patient environments
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities
  • Prepare presentations and proposals for customers
  • Demonstrate equipment to customers
  • Following up on inbound leads and referrals
  • Work with stakeholders within the business to fulfil customer orders
  • Coordinate supply contracts
  • Provide customer training and troubleshooting
  • Develop deep product knowledge
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and key accounts
  • Resolve and mitigate any customer complaints

 

The requirements

You will live in the South West area and will have experience in surgical sales (ideally within ophthalmology) as well as…

  • Strong track record in medical device sales
  • Working knowledge of theatre and clinical environments
  • Degree in a science or product field (or equivalent)
  • Excellent relationship building skills with all levels of staff
  • Knowledge of NHS and private hospital environments
  • Customer-focused and keen to drive great customer experience
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Able to travel across the territory
